On June 8, 2009, Business Monday, a weekly supplement to the Miami Herald, published a series of articles under the cover of “Mobile Medicine.”
The series features this story about how Mobile Surgery International cut costs and thus delivered choice and quality to an uninsured American. This is an unusual story in that Mobile Surgery International sent both the patient and his surgical team from the United States to Trinidad. The story balances outbound health travel with inbound health travel by sharing the example of a man who Mobile Surgery International brought from Israel to the United States for surgery.
