Doctor Goes to Patient February 4, 2009

I joined a house call when I was 6. A man was having chest pain. My father woke me up and we were off. Early life lesson: doctor goes to patient.
At 21 I attended a clinic in Kenya. We delivered babies and treated cholera. At times a dentist flew in. Lesson reinforced: doctor and dentist go to patient.
I approach 50 and the lesson repeats: surgeon goes to patient. This lesson of mobility and service inspires Mobile Surgery International.
